Bovis Lend Lease wins $675m schools jobs

Lend Lease Corporation Ltd's subsidiary Bovis Lend Lease has won two New South Wales education-infrastructure projects worth $675 million.

The contracts are for the upgrade of 380 government schools and are part of the Commonwealth Government's nation-building economic-stimulus plan.

As managing contractor, Bovis Lend Lease will be responsible for the design and construction of new facilities and refurbishments in the Northern Sydney region (130 schools in a contract valued at $275 million) and the Hunter & Central Coast region (250 schools in a contract valued at $400 million).

The 20-month programme commences this month and ends in December 2010.

Bovis Lend Lease said the work required to complete these education-infrastructure projects would lead to significant local employment opportunities.
